Lisk (LSK) | Everything You Need to Know about it and its Re-Launch

Lisk (LSK)

With the re-launch of Lisk (LSK) fast approaching, we thought it would be a good idea to delve a little deeper into this coin and ask what is Lisk? and why should you care about this crypto?

What is Lisk (LSK)?

The Lisk Foundation is building a blockchain application platform that can be built upon by developers and users – making blockchain technology accessible to everyone.  Through Lisk, anybody will be able to make their own blockchain network, off of the Lisk main network, that can then take on decentralized applications (dApps). Essentially, you’d be able to make your own, decentralized, version of an App Store.

Lisk is currently in the process of its Software Development Kit (SDK), which is what will allow the building of your own personal blockchain. The SDK will use JavaScript to do so. According to Lisk’s website, it will be as easy as Code – Deploy – Use. The dApps built on the Lisk network will run in individual sidechains so as not to compromise the overall Lisk network and its scalability.

Blockchain networks that are built off of the Lisk network will have full use of the Lisk APIs but will also be fully customizable.

Lisk’s roadmap is split into five stages: Inception, Resilience, Expansion, Ascent, and Eternity. You can read more about each individual step here, but today we’re going to focus on Resilience. Specifically, Lisk’s rebranding, which is included in this stage of the roadmap.

Lisk Re-Launch

The Lisk team has been hard at work on its rebranding step, and the re-launch is finally here. On February 20th, Lisk will be holding a re-launch event in Berlin. All are welcome and if you can’t make it, you can catch the Livestream of the event.

We still don’t know what exactly the re-launch will bring us, but we do know that included in the announcement is Lisk’s new brand identity, a new frontend design, a new dashboard, and a new wallet.

That’s a lot of new stuff. I’m curious if “brand identity” will go as far as a whole new name for the crypto. Will Lisk still be Lisk after the re-launch? Five more days until we find out.

But why the re-launch? This is so Lisk can create a unified experience when going from website to client to blockchain. Lisk is looking to provide the best user experience in the entire crypto space, and they believe that rebranding will help achieve this.

The alpha version of the Lisk SDK will also be launching shortly afterward.
